In December 2021, firm partner Paul H. Threlkeld presented at the Georgia Supreme Court’s 175th anniversary during a seminar sponsored by the Georgia Legal History Foundation. Threlkeld’s lecture highlighted the Georgia Supreme Court’s Pavesich v. New England Life Ins. Co. decision from 1905 which was the first decision by a state supreme court to recognize the right to privacy. Pavesich has been cited more than 200 times in courts across the United States and is considered a seminal opinion in privacy and personal liberty jurisprudence.
