Stuart Fallin Sumner is an associate in the civil litigation group, focusing primarily on the representation of governments entities, municipalities, counties, and their employees, and business litigation. Prior to joining Oliver Maner, Sumner worked at the firm as a summer associate. Sumner also completed a summer clerkship for former Chief Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court, P. Harris Hines, and served as a summer clerk and judicial extern for the Honorable Timothy C. Batten, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Prior to attending law school, Sumner interned in Washington D.C. with former U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss and former U.S. House Member Lynn Westmoreland.
Originally from Newnan, Georgia, Sumner earned his B.A. in History from the University of Virginia and earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law. While attending the University of Georgia School of Law, Sumner served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law, as Class President for the Student Bar Association, and received the Law School Association Merit Scholarship. Sumner also received his medication certification and mediated several cases in the Clarke County area while at the University of Georgia School of Law. He is a registered mediator in the state of Georgia. Sumner is an Eagle Scout.
